The Weir

Catalogue note

A tree-lined path curves through a park toward a small weir where a stream spills into a bright pool. The palette moves from the deep, shadowed greens of the left-hand trunks to the bleached yellow-green of the sunlit canopy, with a few walkers in blue anchoring the path. Water and light are the real subjects, the stream and its reflections catching the centre of the composition.
