Light Shafts over the Mountains

Dark, silhouetted ridges give way to a pale sky from which long diagonal shafts of light fall like curtains across the slopes. The palette runs from near-black violets to luminous whites, laid in soft, blended gradations. Elemental and almost abstract in its horizontals, the picture evokes calm after storm.
