White Dunes Under Storm

Pale dunes, tufted with dun-coloured grass, roll toward a leaden sky, while a strip of dark sea glints at the left horizon. The whites of the sand are modelled with soft greys and warm ochres, so that the dunes appear to breathe with the light. The painting is quiet, airy and coolly beautiful.
