Ridge upon ridge of mountains glow orange and rust as the sun falls behind them, while their shadowed flanks turn deep blue and the foreground lies pale as a dry pan. Silhouetted trees punctuate the lower ground, anchoring the immense space. The colour is heightened and theatrical, and the light wholly dramatic.
