Four dark animal silhouettes move across a plain washed in deep red, beneath a sky that fades to cream through a blossoming tree. The lower ground turns dark blue, so that the picture is built from only a handful of loaded colours. It is a symbolic, almost dreamlike image, the red field brooding with heat or menace.
