Koi in Still Water

Catalogue note

Orange koi and their pale companions drift across a marbled ground of grey-green water seen from above. The handling is loose and aqueous, patches of colour blooming into one another with soft edges. The image has a decorative, almost oriental serenity, the fish floating somewhere between figuration and stain.
