Blue Nude

A reclining female nude is rendered in an almost monochrome blue, shadowed with violet and touched with hot pink along the shoulders and breasts. The torso fills the canvas and is treated with broad, dragging strokes, so that anatomy and atmosphere become one continuous surface of colour. The pose is languid and the colour coolly sensual.
