Boats on the Lily Pond

Catalogue note

Two pale rowing boats lie on a dark pond among flat green lily pads. The whites and greys of the hulls are set against deep shadow and the rhythmic punctuation of the pads, with reflected light glimmering at the centre. The mood is quiet and slightly melancholic.
