Rain Squall on the Ground

Catalogue note

A dark, descending column of cloud dominates the canvas, its ragged edges dissolving into driving rain that blurs the ground below. Greens, slate blues and bruised greys are scrubbed and dragged into one another until the composition approaches abstraction. The image reads less as a place than as weather itself, turbulence and release made visible.
