Bridge and Cottage in Snow

Catalogue note

A pale cottage with a red chimney stands behind a stone wall, a low bridge carrying the road over a frozen waterway. Snow is rendered in broad, confident slabs of white and ice blue, warmed by buffs beneath. The composition is blocky and architectural, its touch poised between sketch and statement.
