Reclining Figure in Rose

A figure reclines across a tilted, luminous ground of rose, orange and violet, limbs and torso dissolving into broad sweeping strokes. Face and hands are left soft and indistinct, absorbed into the surrounding colour. The palette is warm and glowing and the anatomy subordinated to movement and light in a frankly painterly, impressionist mode.
