Catalogue note

The surface of water becomes an abstract mosaic of red, mauve, dark green and white, reflections of unseen boats or buildings shattered into jigsaw shapes. Colour is laid in saturated blocks, with no horizon and no shore to orient the eye. The result hovers between observation and pure abstraction.
