Bubbling Brook

Catalogue note

The whole picture is given over to swirling, churned water, worked in greys, blues and whites with a restless, marbled structure. There is no horizon or shore, only the abstract turbulence of surface and light. The painting sits close to abstraction, its real subject the sheer movement of water.
