Working title:
Koi Among Autumn Leaves
EnquireCatalogue note
An olive-gold koi crowds the picture plane, framed by fallen leaves in yellows, russets and pinks that drift through near-black water. Flat, saturated patches of colour and a dark surround give the image an almost jewelled compression. The fish’s single steady eye fixes the viewer, lending the scene a still, watchful mood.
