Rings of concentric ripples spread across a dark, violet-tinted surface of water as rain falls. The handling is soft and atmospheric, the drops’ perfect circles incised lightly into veils of misty blue, mauve and grey, and there is no horizon to fix the eye. The image hovers between observation and abstraction, a quiet study of water meeting rain.
