Green Pads

Catalogue note

Flat green lily pads, cut with clean notches, float over water that dissolves into blue and white veils. The composition is sparse and almost diagrammatic, the few coloured leaves set like cut-outs against the cloudy water, and the handling is broad and wet into wet. It reads as a fragment of pond surface observed very close.
