Yellow Field under Cloud

Catalogue note

A sunlit band of yellow and cream sweeps diagonally across dark hillside scrub, backed by a mountain mass lost in grey rain-cloud. A sliver of dark reflective water runs along the bottom edge. The painting balances a few broad tonal zones, gold, slate and black-green, with loose confident handling that keeps the drama in the colour.
