Grandfather

Catalogue note

An elderly man sits at a plain table, lifting food to his mouth with a hand gnarled by age, caught in a shaft of light against a dark interior. The face is modelled with close attention, white hair, weathered skin and a level, unreadable gaze, while a glass jug, cheese and plate anchor the composition. It is a quietly humane study of solitude and ritual.
