Autumn leaves, white and yellow against green, float across a rippling blue surface that carries the dark reflection of a tree trunk. The picture is organised as a mosaic of small bright shapes over a cool ground, reflected light breaking the blue into facets. It is a lyrical, unforced study of transience.
