Mist of the Falls

Catalogue note

A vast waterfall pours over a wooded escarpment, its spray rising to meet a turbulent, luminous sky. The palette is almost monochrome in greys and greens, with the white water providing the single blazing accent. Immense in feeling, the picture emphasises the elemental power of water and the smallness of the dark trees that frame it.
