Catalogue note

Two pale hands descend from above, drawing thin taut strings down to a small bound figure lying on a panel of saturated pink, all against a deep charcoal ground. The image is deliberately theatrical, its dark surround and single warm plane giving the little figure the look of an offering or a puppet. The result is an austere symbolic composition about control, vulnerability and suspension.
