Garden in Pink and Blue

Catalogue note

A semi-abstract garden scene places a tall blue-green cypress among loose masses of pink blossom and orange earth beneath a muted sky. The paint is thin and freely brushed, with forms sliding into one another so that flowers, ground and distance share a single fluid surface. The sweet, high-key pinks against cool blues give the piece a dreamy, decorative lyricism.
