Blue Dancer

Catalogue note

A dancer in a blue tutu wheels across a background of hot pink and orange, one arm flung up, one leg extended. The figure is painted in a saturated, fauvist key of acid blues against citrus warm tones, with the body sketched rather than modelled. The energy lies in the twist of the pose and the clash of complementary colour rather than in finish.
