Leaves on Water

Autumn leaves drift across a water surface, their orange and yellow broken into dabs against green-gold water and pale sky reflections. The surface is painted in long horizontal sweeps with white highlights skating over it, so that the leaves seem both to float and to be mirrored. It is a close, top-down study in which water and foliage exchange identities.
