Golden Reflection

Catalogue note

A pond or river reflects a low sun in a sheet of molten orange and gold, broken into ripples over deep blue shadow. Where the shadowed water lies still it turns almost navy, and beneath the surface pale fish-like shapes drift. The contrast of warm reflection and cold depth gives the picture its pulse.
