A deep blue sea meets a darker, cloud-heavy sky, with a single rift of pale light breaking at the horizon between low headlands. The palette is almost monochrome in its devotion to blue, from an ink-dark foreground to a luminous distance. The image carries the hush of a storm about to pass, or just passed.
