Pale fish hang suspended over mossy, weed-covered stones in dark green water, their bodies simplified to soft lozenges of light. The painting is tonal and atmospheric, built almost entirely from greens, ochres and blacks. Quiet and immersive, it conveys the slow drift of a shoal in shadowed shallows.
