Café Facade in Pastel

Catalogue note

A small framed pastel shows a café facade framed by ochre and green foliage, two capped figures seated at a table beneath the painted sign. The drawing is lively and mosaic-like, with stippled colour and a strip of blue shutters and doorway setting the scene. The high-set picture in its wide mount gives the little scene a jewel-like, decorative intimacy.
