Green algae and trailing weed cloud a shallow stream, with bubbles and pale surface light breaking through the murk. The painting is built largely from dark greens and ochres, lifted by scattered white glints that read as reflected sky or surface insects. It is intimate and almost microscopic in its scale of attention.
