Snow in the Forest

Catalogue note

A forest interior of dark trunks and snow, worked with thick, deliberate strokes that leave the surface visibly built up. Warm browns and oranges flare in the trunks against cool violet-shadowed snow, giving the scene unexpected warmth. The composition is cropped and immersive, the forest closing around the viewer.
